Job Title: Tax Reviewer

Location: Remote

Status: Part-Time Seasonal Employee (Independent Contractor Option Available)

Hourly Rate: $25.00 to $50.00, based on experience and credentials

Spire Financial Consulting LLC is a growing firm providing comprehensive financial solutions for individuals and businesses. Our services include tax reporting and compliance, IRS representation, business accounting, payroll services, and financial health and wealth building.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Return Reviewer to support our team during the 2027 tax season, reviewing and finalizing 2026 tax returns.

Core Responsibilities

• Review and finalize client tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1041, and 1065
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with current tax laws and regulations
• Review supporting documentation and identify discrepancies or missing information
• Manage multiple client engagements and track deadlines effectively
• Review and approve extensions and estimated tax calculations as needed
• Coordinate e-filing of tax returns and related filings
• Communicate with team members regarding corrections, updates, or clarifications
• Stay current with tax law changes through ongoing education
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism with all client data
• Provide additional review and technical support as needed

Qualifications and Requirements

• Active, unrestricted credential required: EA, CPA, or JD
• Active PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number)
• Proof of Errors and Omissions Insurance

 

Technical Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in tax preparation and review software
• Experience with document management systems and digital workflows
• Advanced file organization and review skills
• Proficiency with PDF tools, spreadsheets, and word processing software

 

Technology Setup:

• Computer with camera and microphone
• Reliable phone access
• High-speed internet connection
• Active antivirus protection

Professional Skills:

• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Client-focused and team-oriented mindset

How You Fit

This is a remote, seasonal, part-time contract position for the 2027 tax season, with an expected engagement period from January 2027 through June 15, 2027, with potential for extension. Spire is committed to supporting team members with training and resources. Team members are expected to maintain availability during prearranged working hours, Monday through Thursday, within standard business hours.
