We are excited to reach our client's financial goals and seek an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team.
Core Responsibilities
Preparing complete and accurate client tax returns, including but not limited to 1040s, 1041s, and 1065s. Assist with the closing interview by assembling the tax return and obtaining necessary information from clients. Assessment and request of extensions as necessary. Explore legal deductions to save money for clients. Continued education and training on tax laws. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism with all financial information. Provide other support as needed.
Must possess an active AFSP (Annual Filing Season Program) Credential by December 31st, 2022
an active PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number)
ability to prepare 100+ returns by April deadlines
Proof of Error & Omissions Insurance
Proficient knowledge of file handling and organization, leading tax software (TaxAct, Tax Dome), PDF, word processing, and spreadsheet applications. Dedicated technology, including but not limited to: a computer with a microphone and video capabilities, phone, high-speed internet access, and active virus protection.
Critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills; be self-motivated and organized with time-management abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills through various mediums with a client-centric focus.
How you fit
This position is a remote, seasonal part-time contract-based, for the expected period between December and June 15, 2023, with potential opportunities to extend. Spire is committed to providing necessary support and training for all team members and requires accessibility during a set prearranged time within normal business hours, Monday through Thursday.
