Job Title: Tax Intake Assistant and Data Entry

Location: Remote

Status: Part-Time Seasonal Employee

Hourly Rate: $15.00 to $20.00, based on experience

Company Overview

Spire Financial Consulting LLC is a growing tax and financial consulting firm supporting individuals and businesses with tax reporting and compliance, IRS representation, business accounting, payroll services, and financial wellness services.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Intake Assistant and Data Entry to support our team during the 2027 tax season, preparing 2026 tax returns. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in tax preparation, client document review, and administrative tax workflows.

 

Core Responsibilities

• Review client tax organizers and uploaded documents for completeness
• Enter client information and tax documents into tax preparation software
• Assist with organizing, naming, and categorizing client files
• Identify missing documents or incomplete information for follow-up
• Support basic intake review before tax preparation begins
• Assist with preparing draft workflow notes for the tax team
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism with all client financial information
• Provide administrative support throughout the tax season as needed

 

Qualifications and Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable working with client documents, PDFs, spreadsheets, and online systems
• Strong file organization and data entry skills
• Ability to follow written procedures and checklists
• Clear written communication skills
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage deadlines
• Prior tax office, bookkeeping, administrative, or data entry experience preferred
• Tax preparation experience is helpful but not required

 

Technology Requirements

• Computer with camera and microphone
• Reliable phone access
• High-speed internet connection
• Active antivirus protection
• Ability to work comfortably in cloud-based systems and digital workflows

 

How You Fit

This is a remote, seasonal, part-time contract position for the 2027 tax season, with an expected engagement period from December 2026 through June 15, 2027, with potential for extension.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-focused, and interested in learning the tax preparation process from the intake and data entry side. Training and workflow guidance will be provided.
